LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team handed UTSA its first loss of the season, 4-0, Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels stayed perfect at home this season, improving to 5-2 overall, while the Roadrunners fell to 6-1.
 
UNLV won the doubles point by taking two of three matches. Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao won 6-3 at No. 2 before Aura Fang and Salsa Aher went to tiebreaker to win their match on court three, 7-6 (1).
 
In singles play, the hosts took the first set on five of six courts. Nikol Mircheva was done first, rolling past Magda Tuells, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6. Hu made it 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Vittoria Baccino at the third position and then Aher ended things by closing out Fatima Gutierrez, 6-4, 6-1, on the second court.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Cindy Hu swept her matches, teaming with Coco Zhao to improve to 8-1 in doubles, and breezing through her singles match.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV closes out the weekend by hosting Kansas City on Sunday starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex are free of charge.
