LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team bolted to a big lead and finished with a 4-3 win over Pacific on a gorgeous Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels improved to 2-2 while the Tigers fell to 1-1.
 
UNLV raced to the doubles point with wins on the top two courts. Hanna Vinahradava and Zita Kovacs downed Klara Kosan and Tomi Main, 6-3, at the No. 1 spot after Coco Zhao and Cindy Hu defeated Indiya McLeod and Alexis Sam, 6-1, at No. 2.
 
In singles play, the Rebels took three straight matches to clinch the overall victory. Zhao downed Alexis Smith, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 5; Salsa Aher swept Tomi Main, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2; and Hu rallied past Liza Mladentseva, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0, on court three, before UOP won the final three matchups.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Coco Zhao and partner Cindy Hu cruised in doubles and then Zhao set the tone in singles with a quick, straight-set victory.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV will close out a full weekend of matches by hosting Youngstown State, weather permitting, on Sunday at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex are free of charge.
