LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team finished off its non-conference schedule with a 7-0 win over Utah Tech on a gorgeous Wednesday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels improved to 8-5 while the Blazers of the WAC, who are coached by former UNLV men's tennis player Eric Pelton, fell to 5-8.
 
UNLV won all three doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead.
 
In singles, the hosts did not lose even a set, getting straight-set victories from Zita Kovacs at No. 1, Salsa Aher at No. 2; Cindy Hu at No. 3; Hanna Vinahradava at No. 4; Coco Zhao at No. 5; and Aura Fang on court six.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Kovacs posted a 6-3 doubles win with partner Vinahradava and then swept Adi Venkatakrishnan at the top of the singles lineup, 6-3, 6-0.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV will host in-state rival UNR as part of the Silver State Series presented by America First Credit Union on Friday starting with doubles at 9:30 a.m. Admission to all home matches is free of charge. Complimentary coffee and donuts will be available to fans while supplies last.
