SAN JOSE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – Trailing 3-1, the UNLV women's tennis team needed to win all three remaining singles matches -- and did just that – rallying to post a 4-3 victory over San Jose State on a blustery Friday afternoon at the Spartan Tennis Complex.  
 
The Rebels improved to 13-6 overall and 6-2 in Mountain West play while the Spartans fell to 12-6 and 3-4. UNLV also closed its MW road slate with a 4-1 mark away from Las Vegas.
 
The visitors won a key point to start things off by taking two of three doubles matches. Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao won 6-2 on court two and then Salsa Aher and Aura Fang clinched it with a 6-4 triumph at the No. 3 position.
 
Moving to singles play, SJSU won the first three completed matches to move ahead 3-1. However, Zita Kovacs took a double-tiebreaker win up top, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (7), over Carolina Millan to start the comeback for UNLV. Fang then also needed a tiebreaker in her 6-0, 7-6 (4) win over Olaya Iglesias on court six to tie things up. With the wind swirling, all eyes moved to the third spot where Hu was battling Cheuk Ying Shek and the Rebel junior ultimately closed things out with a gritty, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory.

UP NEXT: UNLV will return to host Colorado State on Sunday starting at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex is free of charge.
