LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team saw its three-match win streak snapped, 4-2, to visiting Colorado State in a four-hour meeting Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels fell to 13-7 overall and 6-3 in Mountain West play while the Rams improved to 9-10 and 5-4.
 
Doubles ultimately decided things as CSU fought off multiple match points to take the clincher on court three, 7-6 (9-7 in the tiebreaker). UNLV's win came at No. 2 where Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao prevailed 6-3.
 
Half of the singles matches would go the distance as momentum swung back and forth between the league rivals.
 
Nikol Mircheva tied it with a quick 6-4, 6-2 win over Viktoria Zhadzinskaya at the fifth position and Salsa Aher eventually outlasted Radka Buzkova, 7-5, 7-6, at No. 2. The Rams, however, used rallies on court six and then No. 4 to reach four points before Zita Kovacs could complete her match vs. Zara Lennon at the top of the lineup, leading 6-7, 6-2, 6-6 (up 3-1 in the tiebreaker).
 
UP NEXT: UNLV will close out its regular season and celebrate Senior Day by hosting San Diego State on Friday starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission is free of charge.
