McKenzi Hall completed the first round of the LPGA Tour's T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards Wednesday at Shadow Creek Golf Course (Par 72, 6,804 yards).
After going 11-over through her first nine holes, the Las Vegas native settled into her first competition against professional golfers with an even-par 36 on her last nine. Behind her solid finish, Hall shot par or better on 12 consecutive holes coming off her eighth tee, including a birdie on hole No. 1.
Hall, who is playing as an amateur after receiving an MGM Resorts International sponsor exemption, ended the day in 96th place at 11-over 84.
Sei Young Kim came away as the day-one leader at 6-under 66 through 18 holes. Kim holds a one-shot lead over Rose Zhang and Danielle Kang in a tie for second at 5-under 67.
UP NEXT: Hall tees off in Thursday's second round of stroke play at 8:21 a.m. PT. Following the day's action, the top 65 players on the leaderboard, including ties, will make the cut into Friday's third round.
