LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Anthony Colandrea, who earned his third Old Trapper Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honor Monday, was also one of eight quarterbacks in the nation named a Manning Award Star of the Week.
Fans can follow the Manning Award on social media (@ManningAward) to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Wednesday at 7 a.m. PT, the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.
Against Air Force on Saturday, Colandrea (St. Petersburg, FL) recorded the most passing yards by a Rebel since 2018 with 361 on 20-of-32 passing with no turnovers. In the third quarter he connected with
DaeDae Reynolds for an 86-yard touchdown that was the third-longest pass play in school history and the longest ever against a conference opponent. Colandrea also rushed 62 yards, including a pair of touchdowns. He opened the day's scoring with a three-yard rush and ended it with a game-winning, 19-yard scramble to the end zone on third down with 36 seconds remaining.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. Since the Manning Award started recognizing Stars of the Week in 2011, 592 different quarterbacks from 138 schools have been recognized. Forty-four players have been honored so far in 2025.
This week's eight Manning Award Stars of the Week are:
