SATURDAY'S PREVIEW...
Undefeated UNLV (6-0/2-0), which continued to receive votes in both the AP and Coaches' polls, returns to the road to play Boise State (4-2/2-0) on Saturday afternoon in a battle of 2-0 first-place teams ... The Rebels, who earned bowl-eligibility last week for the third straight season for the first time ever, are 6-0 for the first time since 1974 when the program started 11-0 ... UNLV is one of just 11 undefeated teams remaining in the FBS and its seven-game win streak, which includes a 2024 bowl victory, is its longest since 1984 ... A win this week would tie for the second-longest streak in school history (1968, 1975-76) ... UNLV leads all of college football with nine road wins since the start of last season ... Head coach Dan Mullen's team is coming off a 51-48 win vs. Air Force in its first home appearance in 35 days ... Mullen is the first UNLV coach to begin his career in Las Vegas 6-0 since the program's inaugural season of 1968 when original coach Bill Ireland started 8-0 on the Division II level ...UNLV is tied for the second-most overall turnovers gained in the nation with 14 as well as turnover margin at plus-nine ... Since falling 35-7 at eventual national champion Michigan in the second game of 2023, UNLV has scored at least 20 points in each of its last 28 regular-season games. That's the second-longest active such streak in the FBS, behind only Memphis (43 straight) ... The Rebels have also scored at least 30 points in their first six games of a season for the first time in program history.

REBELS vs. BRONCOS NOTES...
This will mark the fourth time these programs have met each other in just 23 months ... BSU's win over UNLV in Boise last December in the MW Championship game gave it an 11-3 lead in the overall series and the Rebs are looking for their first win over the Broncos since America's Bicentennial ... The two schools played for six straight seasons in the 1970s but ended the series when UNLV, which was a football independent, moved up to D-I status in 1978 ... In a unique twist, these schools share a former head coach who left each side as the all-time winningest for both programs. Tony Knap, who died in 2011 at the age of 96, was 47-20-2 over six seasons at UNLV after leaving BSU, where he was 71-19-1 from 1968-75 (Chris Petersen passed Knap for wins in 2011).
