RENO, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball team (8-5, 2-1 MW) defeated in-state rival Silver State Series rival UNR Wolf Pack (4-9, 0-3 MW) with Thursday's 3-1 decision (25-21, 12-25, 25-15, 25-22) at the Virginia Street Gym. With the Rebels' win of the Wolf Pack in volleyball this season, UNLV will receive the three points associated with the sport towards the Silver State Series standings.

The Rebels outhit the Wolf Pack .288 to .202 with help from eight more kills (53-45) and three fewer errors (17-20). UNLV hit over .300 twice, including a .368 effort in the fourth. UNR, on the other hand, was held below .200 in three of the four sets. Besides the hitting numbers, UNLV also held advantages in assists (50-38), digs (52-41) and total team blocks (18.0-15.0).

Basia Latos paced the Rebels with 12 kills and an impressive .476 clip on a season-high five block assists. Jadia Harris posted a match-high 14 kills with a .417 hitting percentage with a pair of digs, while Brooklynn Williams added nine kills, four block assists, two digs and two service aces. Libero Calaigh King chipped up a dozen digs, while Kaia Thiele recorded her third straight double-double of 26 assists and 11 digs.

UP NEXT: UNLV will wrap up its four-match road trip where they will face Air Force on Saturday, October 4 at 12 p.m. PT. The match will not be streamed due to the government shutdown.
