OFF-WEEK NOTES
UNLV (6-1/2-1), which continued to receive votes in the Coaches' poll, will have its third and final bye week before hosting New Mexico (4-3/1-2) on Saturday, November 1 ... The Rebels, who have earned bowl-eligibility for the third straight season for the first time ever, have six wins through their first seven games for the first time since 1984 ... UNLV just saw its seven-game win streak snapped at Boise State, 56-31, on Saturday ... Despite the loss, the Rebels still lead all of college football with nine road wins since the start of last season ... Head Coach Dan Mullen became the first UNLV coach to begin his career in Las Vegas 6-0 since the program's inaugural season of 1968 when original coach Bill Ireland started 8-0 on the Division II level ...UNLV is tied for the third-most overall turnovers gained in the nation with 16 and is second in turnover margin at plus-10 ... Since falling 35-7 at eventual national champion Michigan in the second game of 2023, UNLV has scored at least 20 points in each of its last 29 regular-season games. That's the second-longest active such streak in the FBS, behind only Memphis (44 straight) ... The Rebels have also scored at least 30 points in their first seven games of the season to set the record for consecutive 30-point outings at the school. The previous record was five in the middle of the 1974 season under future NFL coach Ron Meyer ... UNLV ranks eighth in the nation in overall wins since the start of the 2024 season with a 17-4 mark ... UNLV has won 13 of its last 17 games at Allegiant Stadium to get above the .500 mark (17-14) at their home venue for the first time since it opened in 2020 ... The Rebels defeated every non-conference opponent on their schedule (4-0) for the first time since joining a league in 1982 ... With its home victory over UCLA, UNLV posted its fourth win since the beginning of last season against schools from the ACC, Big Ten and Big 12. That's the most wins by any program other than Notre Dame against those three conferences by a non-conference opponent in that time ... In fact, since the start of 2023, the Rebels have earned six wins over teams that were part of P5 leagues at the time of the meeting after having only one such victory in the previous 14 seasons ... RB Jai'Den "Jet" Thomas currently ranks sixth in the nation with 7.87 yards per carry. The junior last Saturday moved into eighth-place on the school's career rushing list with 2,036 yards.
