Destiny Leo is on the 20-member watch list for the 2026 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced on Tuesday.
Named after Meyers Drysdale, who was a four-time All-American, first women at any university to be honored with an athletic scholarship and Broderick Cup Award winner, the annual award recognizes the top shooting guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
Leo, a Willowick, Ohio native, is the only Mountain West player on the list. She joins the Lady Rebels this season after having spent five seasons at Cleveland State. While with the Vikings, she was named the Horizon League Sixth Player of the Year as a freshman, Horizon League Player of the Year as a junior and picked up Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year honors at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards as a senior. Additionally, Leo is a four-time All-Horizon league selection and has set multiple records at Cleveland State including the three-point record with 329 made. During the 2024-25, Leo ranked in the top-10 in three pointers made with 105 made. She has already hit the 1,000-point career mark with 1,975 career points (15.2 points per game). Her three-point percentage of .418 in the 2024-25 season, ranked 24th nationally.

In late January, the watch list of 20 players for the award will be narrowed to 10, and then in late February, to just five. In March, the five finalists will be presented to Meyers Drysdale and the Hall of Fame's selection committee, where a winner will be selected. The winner of the 2026 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award will be presented on a to be determined date, along with the other four members of the Women's Starting Five.
