Harris, King, Latos Honored On CSC Academic All-District® List

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV volleyball featured a trio on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday morning - Jaida Harris, Caligh King and Basia Latos each picking up the award for the 2025 season for the first time in their careers. Harris is also a finalist who is a part of the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which first-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced January 13.

Harris, who is a psychology major, became the second Rebel ever to be named the Mountain West Newcomer of the Year after seeing her name in several top MW-only statistical categories, including third in points (297.5), fourth in kills (254), tied for fourth in service aces (22), fifth in points per set (4.25) and tied for fifth in both kills per set (3.63) and service aces per set (0.31). The Las Vegas native led the Scarlet & Gray in four of those aforementioned figures as well as attack attempts (696). She was one of two Rebels to start all 18 MW matches, where she amassed four double-doubles in league play. The outside hitter had her name listed in the top 150 of six NCAA statistical categories, such as tied for 101st in the NCAA in total points (439), 113th in points per set (4.18), tied for 134th in total attacks (1,012), tied for 139th in total kills (370), tied for 143rd in service aces (38) and 149th in kills per set (3.52). Harris garnered 19 double-doubles (all kill-dig combinations), notched 10 or more kills in 19 matches, and that includes a career- and season-high 27 kills against New Mexico (Oct. 16), where she was subsequently named the MW Offensive Player of the Week. She tallied 10 or more digs in eight matches with a career- and season-high 16 coming against Boise State (Oct. 23), collected a trio of service aces on six different occasions, including a career high four against Santa Clara (Sept. 6) and had a minimum of 3.0 total blocks on six occasions.

King, a criminal justice major, became the seventh member of the 1,000-dig club in the final match of the season against San Jose State (Nov. 22). The Southlake, Texas native also joined the program's top ten career service aces with 84 career services aces. She earned a season-high 396 digs on 3.77 digs per set as well as 148 assists on 1.41 assists per set. King tallied the second-most digs in conference play with 279 digs, averaging 3.99 digs per set. The junior libero picked up double-digit digs in 21 of the 28 matches, including five matches of 20+ digs and 12 matches of 15+ digs. King posted a career-high 29 digs against Wyoming (Nov. 13) and collected her first three career double-doubles against Fresno State (22 digs, 10 assists - Sept. 27), New Mexico (20 digs, 11 assists - Oct. 16) and Boise State (17 digs, 11 assists - Oct. 23).

Latos, who is a kinesiology major, matched Harris and King playing in all 105 sets where the sophomore had a total of 224 kills with 10 matches of 10 or more, including a season-high 15 in the season opener against Iowa (Aug. 29). The Lazy, Poland native had six matches above a .300 hitting efficiency (minimum five kills) with a season-high .476 (12-2-21) against UNR (Oct. 2). Latos had a total of 98 digs with a career tying-high 12 against San Jose State (Nov. 22) and collected a career-high 57 blocks (55 block assists, two solo blocks) with four matches of five block assists.

The 2025 Academic All-District Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom across four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must be a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.5 GPA and compete in 90 percent of the institution's contests or start in at least 66 percent of those.
