LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball team announced a new member of their staff on Wednesday, hiring Lexie Torres as the team's Director of Operations.

"She places a high value on building genuine relationships and brings a tremendous work ethic that aligns perfectly with our program's culture. Lexie is incredibly organized, detail-oriented and passionate about supporting our student-athletes in every aspect of their experience. Her commitment to excellence and willingness to go above and beyond will help us elevate our program both on and off the court, and we're thrilled to have her join the UNLV Volleyball family."
Her day-to-day roles will involve varying duties of management and administration of the volleyball program, while also contributing in several areas to collaborate in various tasks and projects. Craig III will be in charge of several logistical needs for the volleyball program as well as being a liaison with internal departments, community outreach programs and external agencies.
Torres spent the previous three years as an Assistant Coach at UTEP. During her tenure with the Miners, Torres helped the program to a combined 77-21 record, where she coached seven All-Conference USA honorees. The 2025 squad saw them earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 6 seed—the second NCAA appearance in program history and the second straight postseason berth.
The 2024 team became the first NCAA Division I team to reach 20 wins this season and closed the year with a top-40 RPI ranking (No. 38). Their efforts culminated in the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance with an at-large bid. UTEP's 27-6 record was the best in program history through 33 matches, and the Miners became the first NCAA Division I team in the country to reach 20 wins that season. The Miners also strung together a school-record 13-match win streak, shattering the previous single-season record of nine set in 1982 and 1996.
Before her time in El Paso, Torres was a part of the Cisco College coaching staff in the fall of 2022 after spending the previous three years coaching the women's volleyball team at Abilene Christian. During her time at Cisco, the Wranglers achieved the most wins in school history and had four All-Conference Players (1x First Team and 3x Second Team).
Torres joined the ACU Wildcats coaching staff in the fall of 2019 after graduating Cum Laude from Southeastern Louisiana University.
In her two years at SLU, Torres was a member of the Lady Lions volleyball team. While with the Lions, she played libero and was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's honor roll both years. During the 2017 season, she earned All-Tournament honors at the BGSU / UT Invitational.
Prior to her time at SLU, she played two years at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas. She had a breakout season as a freshman earning first team All-Conference and All-Region honors. She was ranked 19th in the country for digs and also picked up an All-Tournament team selection at the Odessa College Tournament. She also earned the NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award - Pinnacle for her success both on and off the court. In her sophomore season, she earned second team All-Conference honors. She is the All-Time record holder for digs with 1,040.
A native of San Antonio, she attended Incarnate Word High School where she played volleyball and earned All-District honors three times.
