Lady Rebels Take Trip To Colorado State

UNLV and CSU will tip-off at 12:00 p.m. PT/1:00 p.m. MT on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 at Moby Arena

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) – After the second mid-week bye, the UNLV Lady Rebels are back on the road for a Mountain West contest at Colorado State on Saturday, Feb. 22.
 
ABOUT COLORADO STATE: UNLV is 28-32 all-time against Colorado State, however the Lady Rebels have won the last eight meetings between the two squads, which includes the first matchup this season. The Lady Rebels and Rams met on Jan. 8, 2025 in Las Vegas, with the Scarlet & Gray collecting a 70-61 victory. Colorado State is currently led by Emma Ronsiek who is averaging 18.3 points per game. Her sister, Hannah Ronsiek, leads the Rams in rebounds with 6.3 per game. Emma is also right behind Hannah in rebounds, with Emma bringing down 6.1 per game.

LAST TIME ON THE COURT: The UNLV Lady Rebels collected a 64-50 victory over in-state rival UNR on Saturday afternoon at Lawlor Events Center. The Scarlet & Gray completed the two-game regular season sweep over the Wolf Pack. This game is part of the Silver State series presented by America First. UNLV had four players put up double-digit points and were led by Aaliyah Alexander who had 18 points. Alexander shot 7-for-12 from the field, 2-for-4 from the three-point line and was 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. Kiara Jackson and Amarachi Kimpson each had 12 points, while McKinna Brackens put up 11 points. Jackson led the squad in assists with three and Meadow Roland was the leading rebounder with seven boards. Brown had four steals out of the Lady Rebels 11 total.
 
SQUAD LEADERS: UNLV currently has four players scoring in double-figures and are led by Amarachi Kimpson with 13.4 points per game. Kiara Jackson is the second leading scorer who is averaging 12.9 points per game and leads the Lady Rebels in assists with 5.27 per game and field goals made with 5.2 per game. Alyssa Brown leads the squad in rebounds, bringing down 7.3 per game. Meadow Roland is second for the Lady Rebels in rebounds with 6.3 per game.
 
THREE-PEAT LAST SEASON: The Lady Rebels have continued to bring the heat last season, which culminated with a third consecutive Mountain West Regular Season and Tournament Titles. UNLV became the first program in MW history to claim both titles in three straight seasons. The Scarlet & Gray earned its third automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, a first in both program and league history. The Lady Rebels finished the season only one of two squads to have two (South Carolina) straight seasons with 30 wins. UNLV earned its highest ranking in both the AP and Coaches Poll coming in at No. 20 and No. 19. The Lady Rebels appeared in the Top-25 eight times this season and came into the season receiving votes for the first time in 19 years. UNLV claimed the MW's Player of the Year in Desi-Rae Young (All-MW Team and All-Defensive Team), and Sixth and Freshman of the Year with Amarachi Kimspon (All-MW Team honorable mention and All-Freshman MW Team). Kiara Jackson earned All-MW team accolades and Alyssa Brown was named MW Tournament MVP.
 
WHAT UP SQUAD: The Lady Rebels return 10 of the 14 players from its 2024 championship squad, including two starters and Mountain West Sixth Player and Freshman of the Year Amarachi Kimpson. UNLV added two freshmen guards Teagan Colvin and Elli Guiney, and junior transfer Aaliyah Alexander from Eastern Washington.
