LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's soccer junior forward
Mallie Ramirez was called up to the Philippines National Team for training camp, the squad announced Friday.
The Philippine-born Ramirez, who came to the Rebel program out of Clovis, California, will join the 2023 FIFA World Cup participant at the newly completed Mall of Asia Football Field in Manila for nine days from February 17-26. As part of the camp, the team will play an intrasquad exhibition on February 25 at the same location.
This past fall, Ramirez helped UNLV earn its first postseason berth since the 2016 season when it qualified for the Mountain West Tournament. During her three seasons in Las Vegas, she has tallied 13 goals - the most by any Rebel in that span - to go along with one assist and two game-winning goals.
The training session kicks off the 2025 calendar year for the Filipina team coming off its country's first World Cup appearance two years ago.
