BOULDER CITY, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's golf freshmen Caitlin Shippam and Amber Chen finished in the top 20 at the Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State from Monday-Tuesday, March 10-11, at Boulder Creek Golf Club (Par 72, 6,157 yards).
Playing as individuals, Shippam (72-75-74) played her way to 13th place at 5-over 221 for the tournament and Chen (72-75-78) tied for 19th at 9-over 225. Their efforts each included their best 18-hole stretches in Monday's first round when they had matching even-par 72 rounds.
UP NEXT: The Rebels jump back into team competition when they visit the Lone Star State next week for the Betsy Rawls Invitational being hosted by Texas from March 17-18.
