LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's golf senior Caden Fioroni was named the Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday. This is his first weekly honor this season, while it's the program's second on the year.

The San Diego native secured his first collegiate win with a 9-under 207 (67-67-73) and led the Rebels to second place as hosts of the Southern Highlands Collegiate. Amid heavily windy conditions in the first two rounds, he fired off back-to-back 5-under 67 scorecards that included a bogey-free second round and 11 birdies on the first 36 holes.

After the tournament, he surged 53 spots up to 18th in the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd national player rankings. Additionally, he helped the Rebels make a 15-spot leap to No. 16 nationally after finishing only behind new No. 1 Auburn and ahead of eight top-25 ranked squads.
