LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's basketball has received a signed commitment from Shelbee Brown to join the squad for the 2025-26 season, head coach
Lindy La Rocque announced today.

Brown, a 5-foot-11 forward from Memphis, Tennessee, comes to UNLV after completing the 2024-25 season at Akron University, a season at Memphis and her initial two seasons at Northwest Florida. While with the Zips, Brown played in all 31 games including 27 starts and earned All-MAC third-team honors after posting team-high marks in scoring (14.0), rebounding (8.9), free throws made (119), free throws attempted (174) and steals (72). She ranked third on the squad in field goal percentage (.461) and fourth in assists (40) and blocks (12). Brown picked up 22 double-figure scoring games out of 31 contests last season.
Prior to her season with the Zips, Brown played for her hometown team, Memphis, where she appeared in 28 games including 10 starts. A post defensive anchor for the Tigers, she averaged 6.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals. Brown began her collegiate career at Northwest Florida, where she helped the Raiders capture the 2020-21 NJCAA national title. As a freshman at Northwest Florida, she averaged 7.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per outing. She registered over 10 points per game as a sophomore to spark Northwest Florida to a 27-3 overall record.
Brown joins Ongolea Afu, Mariah Elohim, Trystan James, Hoda Kabada and Alexis Swillis as incoming players for the Lady Rebels for the 2025-26 season.
