AZUSA/WALNUT, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field team closed out their stay at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Athletic Stadium in Azusa and the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut.
DAY THREE
The Rebel quartet of Chinyere Okoro, Kennedi Porter, AnnaKay Maitland and Jaydea Carter combined for an impressive time of 44.29 seconds in the 4x100m Relay, securing third place overall and first in their heat. Carter continued her strong outdoor season with a sixth-place finish in the 100m hurdles, clocking 13.41 seconds. In the 200m, Porter posted a time of 23.34 seconds, finishing eighth overall.
DAY TWO
The UNLV track & field team completed their stay at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Athletic Stadium in Azusa, California on the campus of Azusa Pacific University.
The field squad made its presence known in the shot put, where Krisha Jayasankar launched a 15.35m (50' 4.5") throw to secure second place overall. Roxene Simpson placed 12th with a 12.52m (41' 1") mark, while Lauryn Williams added a 11.56m (37' 11 ¼") throw.
In the Invite section of the 1500m, Natalia Ruiz posted a 4:29.48 finish, while Claire Rands followed up in the Open B section with a time of 4:44.84. Additionally, Alana Sangprasit ran a 4:56.00 in the Open C heat.
In the 400m, Lacarthea Cooper led the way for UNLV, finishing 16th overall with a time of 55.54. Sadia Green (57.77) and Malika Mashack (59.56) also clocked sub-minute performances. Gabriella Caldwell turned in a time of 12.12 in the 100m, before returning to run 24.68 in the 200m. AnnaKay Maitland posted the team's fastest 200m time of the day at 24.57, placing 18th overall. Mashack (25.54), Green (25.55), and Jada Lujan (28.31) rounded out the Rebels' 200m efforts.
In the 100m hurdles, Jaydea Carter put together one of the top Rebel finishes of the day, taking fourth place with a time of 13.86. Jada Lujan also competed, clocking in at 21.86.
DAY ONE
In the field events, Lauryn Williams competed in the hammer throw where she launched a personal best mark of 45.28m (148' 6"). Teammate Madelynn Wattles also had a solid outing, recording a mark of 44.32m (145' 5").
Leading the way on the track was senior Natalia Ruiz, who delivered a standout performance in the 5000m Open A division, clocking in with a season-best time of 16:26.04. In the 5000m Open C heat, Breanna Blanks crossed the line in 18:40.16.
In the 800m Open, Claire Rands posted a time of 2:16.43, followed closely by Leah Okuda at 2:18.29.
The discus crew turned in a trio of strong efforts, led by Roxene Simpson, who threw 44.63m (146' 5"). Sophia Clark followed with a mark of 42.13m (138' 2"), while Krishna Jayasankar rounded out the group at 41.56m (136' 4").

UNLV will head to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to participate in the Penn Relays on April 24-26.
