Mayumi Umezu finished second in the respective team and individual standings to end the regular season Thursday at Wyoming's Cowgirl Classic held at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club (Par 72, 6,212 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: The Rebels, who grabbed their sixth top-2 finish of the 2024-25 campaign, posted a final-round 2-under 286 after Umezu shot a 2-under 70 and sophomore
Zi Yu Foong tallied a team-best 3-under 69 on the day. Umezu recorded a final tournament score of 1-under 215, Foong (+5) and senior
Hina Matsui (+5) tied for 11th, senior
Toa Yokoyama (+8) tied for 17th and senior
McKenzi Hall (+11) tied for 24th. As an individual competitor, freshman
Amber Chen (+16) tied for 39th.
LEADERBOARD: Umezu was only edged by the individual medalist Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn (-2) from Iowa State by one shot. The Scarlet & Gray (+11) shot below par for the second straight round to land within eight shots of team champion Iowa State's 3-over 867 for the tournament.
UP NEXT: UNLV now looks ahead to the Mountain West Championship being held at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, from April 15-17.
