LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV freshman Ilia Snitari won again at the top of the lineup but the Rebels fell 4-2 at the hands of Utah State on Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels dropped to 6-9 overall and 0-3 in the Mountain West while the Aggies improved to 12-7 and 3-1.
 
UNLV earned a 1-0 lead by taking two of three doubles matches. Snitari and Illia Maksymchuk edged David Martirosian and Eliot Nobel, 7-5, at No. 1 while Vitaily Horovoy and Joel Gibson took out Sergi Mico Fenollar and Keanu Rigy in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5), on court three.
 
In singles play, Snitari improved his record to 5-0 in dual matches with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Fenollar. The Aggies found straight-set wins on three other courts, however, to clinch overall.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV heads out for its final two MW road matches of the spring, starting with at Air Force on Friday.
