CLOVIS, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - After two strong qualifying days of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the UNLV track & field team aimed high for the final day of the conference championships on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium, finishing seventh as a team with 62 points.
DAY THREE
The Scarlet & Gray would find four medals in the final day of action, two individual gold medals, one relay gold and one bronze medal.Â
Kennedi Porter highlighted the Rebels' success at the event, the senior taking part in three medals and was named the 2025 MW Women's Track Performer of the Meet. Her top race came from the women's 100m, winning the event by .10 seconds to record the fourth-fastest time in UNLV history at 11.24 seconds. Her 100m gold medal was the second straight season Porter earned the top honor. Porter also claimed the women's 200m earlier in the meet, winning the two shortest racing events on a 22.95 final time, which was the fifth-fastest time in program history and her second consecutive 200m outdoor crown. Porter also became the first MW sprinter to earn back-to-back titles in the 100m and 200m since 2021.
The third UNLV medal at the championships stemmed from the women's 4x100m relay, the team of Chineyre Okoro, Kennedi Porter, AnnaKay Maitland, Jaydea Carter teaming to win the event for the first time since the 2011 season. The team would put together a final time of 47.40, beating out the second-place finisher, San Jose State, by .21 seconds. The fourth medal would come from Grace Cunningham in the high jump, claiming bronze with a leap of 1.70m (5' 7").
The Rebels featured several other strong performances in the final day of the Mountain West championships. Carter picked up a fourth-place showing in the 100m hurdles, finishing with a time of 13.62 to claim five points. In the discus throw the duo of Krishna Jayasankar (52.20m, 171' 3") and Roxene Simpson (51.66m, 169' 6") placed fourth and fifth, respectively, capturing personal marks throws to earn a combined nine points.
Juliana Roberson also picked up some points for the Rebels as she placed eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.13 (39' 9.75").
DAY TWO
The UNLV track & field team ended day two of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships with impressive performances on Friday at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Rebels picked up their first set of points from their field events and hoisted two more track qualifiers to their respected finals events on Saturday.
The Scarlet & Gray's points came from Krishna Jayasankar, making her way into finals in the women's shot put. After qualifying in the fifth-place spot in the prelims session, Jayasankar would boost herself up one spot to finish fourth overall in the event. She produced a toss of 15.54m (51' 0") as her farthest mark of the night, scoring five points for UNLV.
UNLV posted two other student-athletes with top-five finishes after their respective prelim races, Jaydes Carter up a fourth-place finish in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 13.48 to qualify for tomorrow's final. Senior Kennedi Porter capped the track events with a first-place showing in the 100m with a top time of 11.45.
In the 400m preliminaries, Sadia Green posted a personal-best time of 55.55 seconds.
DAY ONE
The UNLV track & field team kicked off day one of the 2025 Credit 1 Union Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday night, where they participated in a handful of events to start the weekend at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Rebels found success in several areas of the meet, as one individual broke her own program-record in the 10,000m and another qualified for the 200m conference finals on Saturday.
Senior Natalia Ruiz broke her own 10,000m run record with a bronze medal in a time of 34:30.72 to earn six points for the Scarlet & Gray. The other notal high point came from Kennedi Porter's third place showing in the 200m, finishing with a time of 23.38 to earn a spot in Saturday's final. Her other 200m cohorts were Jaydea Carter (23.90, 10th), Gabriella Caldwell (24.28), Jayda Bushay (24.79) and Sadia Green - 24.98.
The duo of Claire Rands and Leah Okuda competed in the 800m, finishing with times of 2:13.43 and 2:15.69, respectively. In the lone field event of the day for UNLV, Lauryn Williams competed in the hammer throw, finishing with a mark of 37.54m (123' 2").

UNLV now will wait for the rest of the NCAA Division I conference championships to complete before finding out their next step, hoping for a spot at the NCAA West Regionals meet in College Station, Texas Wednesday, May 28 through Saturday, May 31.
