Rebels Start NCAA Postseason Play At Columbus Regional Monday

UNLV will compete as the No. 7 seed among a 12-team field at Ohio State University's Golf Club from Monday-Wednesday

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's golf team will tee off in the postseason at the NCAA Columbus Regional from Monday-Wednesday at the Ohio State University Golf Club Scarlet Course (Par 72, 6,319 yards).

One of six regional sites, OSU's home course joins Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club (host: Arizona State), Keene Trace Golf Club (host: Kentucky), Birdwood Golf Club (host: Virginia), The Rawls Course (host: Texas Tech) and Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club (host: Oklahoma) in hosting the 72-team field.

THE LINEUP: Representing the Rebels will be seniors Toa Yokoyama, Mayumi Umezu, McKenzi Hall and Hina Matsui, as well as sophomore Zi Yu Foong.

THE FIELD: 1. Arkansas (No. 2); 2. LSU (No. 10); 3. Ohio State (No. 14); 4. Kansas (No. 23); 5. Houston; 6. SMU; 7. UNLV; 8. Illinois; 9. Kent State; 10. Illinois State; 11. Xavier; 12. Oakland; Individuals:  1. Isabella McCauley – Washington; 2. Vanessa Zhang, Harvard; 3. Savannah de Bock, Eastern Michigan; 4. Mara Janess, Michigan; 5. Neeranuch Prajunpanich, Youngstown State; 6. Jillian Cosler, Bradley.

FORMAT: The top five teams and the top individual not on those teams at the 54-hole tournament will advance to the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, being held May 16-21.

NOTES:
  • The Scarlet & Gray is coming off seven top-2 tournament finishes during the regular season, including their Mountain West Championship and Denver's Ron Moore Intercollegiate victories.
  • Three Rebel seniors earned All-Mountain West accolades, with Toa Yokoyama and Mayumi Umezu receiving first-team nods and McKenzi Hall receiving a second-team selection.
  • In her 14th year at the helm of the UNLV women's golf program, head coach Amy Bush-Herzer was named MW Coach of the Year for the fourth time.
  • The Scarlet & Gray captured its eighth conference title and the fifth of Bush-Herzer's tenure.
  • Additionally, the squad has seen Umezu (Cowgirl Classic), Hall (Jim West Challenge) and Toa Yokoyama (Westbrook Invitational) each grab one second-place individual finish on the year.
