Zi Yu Foong Set To Represent Malaysia At World Amateur Team Championships

The WATC will take place from Oct. 1-4 at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's golf junior Zi Yu Foong will represent her home country of Malaysia at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships. The championship event is being hosted by the Singapore Golf Association from Oct. 1-4 at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.

In a field of 36 countries at the 72-hole tournament, the two lowest scores by players of each team for every round will count toward the team score. At the end of the four 18-hole rounds, the team with the lowest 72-hole team score will be crowned the champion.

Hailing from Salangor, Malaysia, Foong enters the event fresh off a strong start to the 2025-26 campaign through two fall tournaments. Among her two top-5 finishes, she earned her first career victory at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic and tied for second at the season-opening Dick McGuire Invitational. Her win at the Ram Classic included career bests with a 36-hole score of 6-under 138 and a single-round low of 5-under 67.
