LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program will make its first of two trips to the Duke City during the 2026 indoor season for this weekend's New Mexico Team Open. The Rebels will send 16 student-athletes to compete in a total of 11 events to the two-day event contested at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Leading UNLV's contingent to the Land of Enchantment will be Krishna Jayasankar who sits second overall in the Mountain West and tied for 30th in the NCAA in the shot put with a mark of 15.99m (52' 5.5"). Jayasankar is one of four Rebels that ranks 10th or better in the conference standings, as teammate Jaci Wright is also second in the 60m Hurdles at 8.50. Close behind the duo is Amaya Mitchell-Howard as she ranks third in the weight throw (19.04m/62' 6.575"), while Juliana Roberson sits ninth in the triple jump (11.96m/39' 3").
Additionally, the Rebels have five student-athletes that rank in the top 15 in their respective events that will be competing in Albuquerque. Freshman Aly Winston sits tied for eighth in the 200m with a time of 24.41 seconds. The trio of Jayda Bushay, Gabby Goodgames and Kaitlynn Webbe are tied for 11th in the 200m (24.63), 60m Hurdles (8.84) and 400m (56.22), respectively. Kayli Middleton and Lauryn Williams each sit at 14th in the triple jump (11.22m/36' 9.75") and shot put (12.76m/41' 10.5"), respectively. Winston and Goodgames are each tied for 16th in the 60m with times of 7.70 seconds. Rounding on the rankings is Gabriella Caldwell as the sophomore ranks 17th in the MW in the 400m (57.17).
Joining the group will also be the sprint duo of Sadia Green and KayVeonna Jackson, while the Scarlet & Gray will see the distance quartet of Taryn Bailey, Claire Rands, Reagan Reed and alternate Alana Sangprasit.
Friday's action begins at 2:30 pm PT with two Rebels in the long jump and two more in the weight throw. The squad will also have a total of eight student-athletes competing in three track events – unseeded 200m and 400m along with the 600m – later in the evening.
The Scarlet & Gray will return Saturday for five track and two field events. The team will have track participants in the mile, 400m, 800m and as well as qualifying and preliminary rounds of the 60m and 60m hurdles. The day starts with the shot put at 9:00 am PT with the 60m hurdles following shortly after.
