LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's golf junior Zi Yu Foong will represent her home country of Malaysia at the 2026 Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific. The event is being hosted by The R&A and the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation from Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 12-15 in Royal Wellington, New Zealand, at Royal Wellington Golf Club (Par 70, 6,362 yards).

In a field of 84 competitors, an 18-hole round will be played each day with a cut to the top-50 players and anyone tied for 50th place after 36 holes. The competitors who advance past the first two rounds will qualify to play the final 36 holes over the last two days.

A native of Salangor, Malaysia, Foong has picked up two top-2 finishes for the Rebels during the 2025-26 campaign. Among those efforts, she earned her first career victory at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic and tied for second at the season-opening Dick McGuire Invitational. Her win at the Ram Classic included career bests with a 36-hole score of 6-under 138 and a single-round low of 5-under 67.
