Rebel Football Sits Atop G6 In Recruit Ratings After Latest Signing

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV football ranks first among the entire G6 in its per-player ratings for the overall 2026 class (recruits and portal additions combined), according to 247Sports.

After signing one player in the February period, highly touted tight end Aveon Williams, head coach Dan Mullen's second class in Las Vegas averaged a school-record per-player rating of 85.62 as of Thursday (Feb. 12). When considering both high school recruits and additions from the transfer portal, the new Rebels averaged 85.45, which ranks first among the 69 teams that make up the Mountain West, American, Conference USA, Sun Belt, MAC and Pac-12 along with one independent.

Williams, a 6-5, 265-pound unanimous three-star recruit out of Casa Grande, Arizona, is the highest-rated tight end signee and sixth-highest rated high school player ever signed by UNLV, according to 247Sports. The two-way standout at Casa Grande High School originally committed to North Carolina after also receiving offers from programs such as Oregon, Arizona State, Arizona, Kansas State and Minnesota. Williams played both tight end and defensive end for the Cougars, earning a national ranking of 56 by 247Sports and 61 by ESPN among players listed as Athletes. He caught 114 passes for 2,040 yards and 32 touchdowns in 30 games played at CGHS, including twice making the AIA 5A state playoffs.

Spring practice for UNLV, which is coming off a third consecutive bowl trip and back-to-back-to-back Mountain West championship appearances, begins March 26.
