PEORIA, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) – Behind a season-low 11-under 277 in Monday's final round, the UNLV women's golf team tied for seventh with a season-best tournament score of 14-under 850 at the Westbrook Invitational hosted by Wisconsin at Westbrook Village Golf Club (Par 72, 6,293 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Three Rebels finished in the top 25 with career-best tournament scores. Among those, sophomore
Amber Chen led the way as she tied for sixth with a 9-under 207, junior
Zi Yu Foong tied for 11th with a 7-under 209 and freshman
Lana Yamagata tied for 21st at 4-under 212. Rounding out the lineup were junior
Jane Huang (+8) in a tie for 63rd and freshman
Almina Erdogan (+10) in a tie for 69th.
FINAL ROUND RECAP: For the second straight day, the trio of Chen, Foong and Yamagata tallied under-par scorecards. In the process they each posted career-low 18-hole scores, including Chen's 6-under 66, Foong's 5-under 67 and Yamagata's 3-under 69.
CHAMPIONS: Missouri came away with the team title at 37-under 827 through 54 holes, edging runner-up Arizona by two shots. Kansas State's Noa van Beek earned individual medalist honors at 14-under 202 for the tournament.
UP NEXT: The Rebels return home to play host to the Lady Luck Invitational, taking place at Las Vegas Country Club from Monday-Tuesday, March 2-3.
