Jayasankar To Compete At NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday

UNLV track & field’s Krishna Jayasankar will compete in her second career NCAA Championships.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Krishna Jayasankar will represent UNLV in the shot put at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The two-day meet, which is being held at the University of Arkansas' Randal Tyson Track Center, runs through Saturday.

Jayasankar will represent the Scarlet & Gray in the shot put that is slated to begin at 12:45 pm PT on Saturday. The senior delivered one of the top performances at the CU1 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships two weeks ago for UNLV, placing second in the shot put with a personal best throw of 17.09 meters (56-1). The mark remains second all-time in program history. Jayasankar also became the first Indian woman to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

FOLLOW ALONG:
ESPN+ will provide full coverage throughout all two days of the NCAA Indoor Championships, with day one on Friday beginning at 9 am PT, while day two will start at 9 am PT.

- Jayasankar ranks No. 17 nationally in the shot put with her mark of 17.09 meters (56-1).
-The Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India native has recorded three personal best marks in the shot put this season (16.63m, 16.83m, 17.09m).
- The senior is the first Rebel thrower to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships since Rosa Santana took bronze in the shot put at the 2023 championships.
