Jayasankar Punches Ticket To NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships In Sho Put

UNLV’s Jayasankar becomes first Indian woman ever to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV track & field will send Krishna Jayasankar to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas (May 14 - 12:45 pm PT) after the senior's qualifying performance this past Saturday at the CU1 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships inside the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Jayasankar will continue her season at the Randal Tyson Track Center after placing second with a personal best mark of 17.09m (56' 1") last week. Moreover, her mark still remains second on the all-time indoor program list as she beat her personal best throw by 0.26 meters. This will be the second time in nine months that Jaysankar has qualified for the NCAA Championships as the Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India native earned a spot at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the discus throw.
