LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's golf junior Zi Yu Foong was named the Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday. This is her second career Mountain West weekly or monthly award and second this season.

Originally from Salangor, Malaysia, Foong notched her third top-2 performance of the season, finishing second as the Rebels hosted the Lady Luck Invitational presented by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority at Las Vegas Country Club. She tallied a final score of 1-under 215, including a 2-under 70 in back-to-back rounds to open the event.

The Scarlet & Gray standout moved up to No. 48 in the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd national player rankings after that outing. She now has racked up under-par tournament scores in five out of her six tournaments played this season.

Foong also helped the Rebels tie their highest finish of the season when they took fourth, placing ahead of four top-50 squads.
