LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV track & field's Sophia Clark and Roxene Simpson will compete in the team's first outdoor meet of the 2025-26 season this upcoming weekend, traveling to Long Beach for the Beach Opener where they will compete in the discus throw on Saturday, March 7 at 10 am at Jack Rose Track.

Simpson heads into the Beach Opener with a personal best mark of 51.66m (169' 6") held at last season's Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where she placed fifth overall. Additionally, Clark sits with a personal best discus throw of 42.76m (140' 3") held at the Desert Heat Classic in 2025. Simpson is seeded third in the discus throw this weekend, while Clark is seeded 14th overall.
