LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's soccer team will square off vs. UTEP in its Mountain West opener with a UNLV Fight Night-themed match kicking off at 7 p.m. Thursday at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
The Rebels (2-4-2) have gone unbeaten in their last two main events, including a 3-2 win over Pacific last week and a draw against CSUN (Sept. 6). They will be put to the test against an undefeated Miner squad coming in with a 6-0-3 record during non-conference play.
PROMOTION: In honor of UNLV Fight Night, the first 175 fans to stop at the marketing table near the entrance can score a UNLV-UFC-themed poster featuring the UNLV women's soccer seniors.
PURCHASE TICKETS: Season tickets to UNLV soccer games — $25 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $35 for the general public — can be purchased at UNLVTickets.com or by calling 702-739-3267. Single-game tickets are $6 per adult when purchased in advance of game day, $12 or $10 for seniors, faculty and staff at the door and free for kids in high school or younger.

News & Notes:
- UNLV's attack continues to create opportunities, finding space to fire double-digit shot attempts in five of eight matches on the year. It has also achieved the feat in three consecutive contests after recording a season-high 14 targets vs. Pacific.
- Sophomore forward Julia Salem had a three-match performance in the Rebels' last outing to earn her first career MW Player of the Week honor. She scored the game-winner against the Tigers and assisted on the second Scarlet & Gray goal.
- Through eight contests, fifth-year forward Kaitlin Taylor stands as the Rebel leader with 12 points, five goals and two assists during the 2026 campaign.
- Salem follows Taylor on the Scarlet & Gray goal and points chart for the season, taking possession of second in those categories with two scores and five points.
- The Scarlet & Gray has now netted multiple goals three times this season, improving to an unbeaten 1-0-2 in those contests.
- The Rebels have played in a number of competitive matches during the 2026 campaign, with seven of their eight games being decided by one goal or less.
