Player diary by UNLV swimmer Khawinda Kuhn
Nov. 18, 2002
Tension was high as the Rebel Women faced Lady Rams of Colorado State on Saturday at the Buchanan Natatorium. The meet was exceptioanally close with fast swims coming from both the Rebels and the Rams. Some of the meets great swims came from Raluca Udroiu, my breastroke buddy Shayna Burns, Julie Unrau, Alison Noble, and Alison Zick.Diving contributed a lot, especially with Nichole Mclean's win in the one meter.Nichole continues to dive like a champion.
- The scores were neck to neck throughout the meet and the Rebels were down by one point before the last event of the day which was the 4x100 freestyle relay.Whoever took this relay, took the victory. The crowd was going wild as the Rebels and the Rams were dead even during the race. It came down to the last ten meters of the race when Tamee Ebert dug deep within her and sprinted like a madman...man, you never know what to expect from these distance swimmers. The Rebels took the win and the meet as well. The Rebels have a flawless record so far this season and we hope to keep it that way.
BYU and Florida State are coming to town. Both men and women race them on Nov. 22 at 5 pm.-we'll be ready to go.
Holla!
