Nov. 5, 2002

It was a great Halloween afternoon as the Lady Rebels cruised on to Southern California for The Big West Shootout in Irvine. Despite coming to the meet tired, the "wicked women" nevertheless ended the first day of the swim meet in the winner's bracket, defeating Hawaii. The next day proved to be quite a test for the lady rebels as they were faced against greater competition with schools like University of Pacific, University of Washington, and University of California, Santa Barbara. In true rebel style, we trudged on and swam our hearts out like we always do, giving the other teams a good run for their money. In the end we came in third overall, winning over Santa Barbara by one point.

I also have to give a shout-out to my divers who did absolutely outstanding. Nichole, Jessica, and Cheryl took a sweep, finishing 1-2-3 respectively. The girls are constantly improving and they continue to better their results every meet. They have the USC Diving Invitational coming up this weekend and I wish them the best.

The Rebel Women face Colorado State on Nov.16 - and we'll be ready to rock.
