ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Amber Smith had 11 kills and recorded a match-high 18 digs as New Mexico defeated UNLV 15-10, 15-11, 8-15, 15-7, in a Mountain West Conference volleyball match at the Johnson Center Friday.

New Mexico (6-17, 1-5 MWC) was assisted in its first Mountain West Conference win by Micaela Conley's 11 kills and 14 digs. Jessie Goffard added 10 kills, while Nana Allison turned in 12 digs.

UNLV (9-8, 1-5 MWC) was led by Angie Sylvas' match-high 17 kills and 11 digs. Christel Eves recorded 11 kills, while Justine Kamelamela had 14 digs. Danielle Gerlach also turned in a double-figure dig total with 12.

UNLV will be back in action at Air Force on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 7:00 p.m. MT. The Rebels will be home again at the Lied Gymnasium on Nov. 4 vs. Utah.
