Oct. 22, 1999

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's soccer team dropped it's fourth straight game this season, falling to New Mexico, 3-2.

The Rebels took a 1-0 lead to the second half, but were unable to stop the Lobos offensive attack for the duration of the game. The Lobos made a strong come back in the second half with three goals.

The Lobos senior midfielder Lana Melendres put the first ball in the net during the first two minutes of the second half and was assisted by senior forward Jennifer Fitzpatrick. Jayme Dieringer, a junior defender, scored the second goal off of a cornerkick by Michelle Nowfel. The third and game winning goal was made by freshman forward Tara Alrid with an assist by Fitzpatrick.

The Rebels were led by Stepahnie Sutter and Janae Sims, who each scored a goal.

UNLV falls to 6-8-1 on the year. The Rebels are back at home this weekend with game on Sunday at noon against San Diego State.
