PORTLAND, Ore. - The UNLV women?s cross country team finished 16th of 28 teams at the NCAA West Regional at Blue Lake Park on Saturday.

Junior Jenni Nelson (Renton, WA/Univ. of Montana) was the Rebels? top finisher for the third straight race, finishing 43rd overall in 18:22.

Senior Kathryn Goetz (Denver, CO/Univ. of Nevada, Reno) and freshman Rhonda Kilfoyle (Las Vegas, NV/Clark) turned in exceptional performances. Goetz, 82nd overall, ran just eight seconds off her career best, clocking a 18:57. Kilfoyle was also just shy of her best time, finishing the 5-kilometer race in 19:06 and placing 91st.

The race was the final event of the season for the Rebel cross country team. The runners, however, will be in action again in just two short months with the coming of the indoor track season.
