Diggs' Long-Range Bombs Lead UNLV Past Fairfield, 92-68

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Trevor Diggs scored 19 points, including 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, as UNLV defeated Fairfield, 92-68, in a non-conference game Sunday.

Diggs, a junior college transfer playing only his second game for the Rebels, had 12 points in the second half to help put the game away for UNLV (2-0).

Kenny Dye added 15 points for UNLV and Mark Dickel chipped in 11.

Jermaine Clark had a game-high 22 points for the Stags (0-2), including four 3-pointers. Oscar Garcia added 17 points for Fairfield.

The Rebels led 43-33 at the half, and quickly went up by 16 points in the second half on two layups from freshman Dalon Johnson and a basket by Donovan Stewart.

Garcia scored Fairfield's first points of the second half to cut the lead to 49-35, but Diggs hit a 3-pointer to put the Rebels up by 17.

The Rebels, who played before a home crowd of 10,670, eventually built the lead up to 24 with 7:52 left in the game.
