LAS VEGAS (AP) - Center Kaspars Kambala scored 27 points to lead UNLV to a 87-80 victory Tuesday night over Eastern Kentucky in Las Vegas.

UNLV (8-2) took an early 21-6 lead to start the game and led by 16 points at halftime, 49-33. The Rebels increased their lead to as many as 22 points, 55-33, early in the second half, but Eastern Kentucky battled back to take a 76-75 lead on a layup by Will Morris with 1:53 remaining in the game.

After Eastern Kentucky (5-3), took the lead, the Rebels outscored them 12-4 down the stretch. Guard Trevor Diggs scored the final 10 points for the Runnin' Rebels and finished with 19 in the game.

Eastern Kentucky was led by guard Whitney Robinson who scored 20 points. Sam Hoskin also chipped in 16.
