Conference Honors Handed Out

Las Vegas - UNLV freshman forward Anita Pedford was named the Western Athletic Conference's Pacific Division Freshman of the Year for women's soccer the conference announced Wednesday.

Pedford also was named second team all-Pacific Division. The awards were voted on by the league's head coaches. Pedford is the only Rebel to receive conference honors for the first year program.

Pedford led UNLV in goals with five and assists with six. She was one of two Rebels to start all 19 games. She scored the game-winning goal versus Air Force to give the Rebels their first-ever victory. She was named offensive Most Valuable Player at Air Force's Falcon Invitational Tournament September 4-6.
