HONOLULU, O'ahu, Hawai'i (UNLVRebels.com) – Playing in rainy conditions, UNLV women's soccer (5-9-3, 3-5-1 MW) stormed back from an early deficit with two unanswered goals en route to its second straight win with a 2-1 victory over Hawai'i (9-5-1, 6-2-0 MW) in its road finale Wednesday at UH Lower Campus Field.

After the Rainbow Wahine struck first with an eighth-minute penalty kick goal, redshirt sophomore defender Madison Encinas tied the match on an Olimpico goal in the 35th minute and freshman forward Tatum Jackson completed the Rebel comeback with the game-winning goal in the 59th minute. Behind Encinas' and Jackson's scores, the Scarlet & Gray grabbed their first road triumph of the season.

Jackson's go-ahead score marked the first game-winner of her career, her third of the season and the second straight match she has netted a goal in. Encinas sent a ball into the back of the net for the first time in her career.

Setting up Jackson's score, freshman midfielder Kamri Yergensen fed a through ball into the box for Jackson to reach before UH's goalkeeper and defender could get to it. Yergensen ended up with her third assist of the year.

STAT OF THE GAME: The Rebels put forth their best shot-on-goal percentage of the season with 83.3 percent of their shot attempts landing on target. In the second half, they made their lone shot of the final 45 minutes matter most when Jackson's shot hit the twine.

Sophomore goalkeeper Riley Hodson and her supporting Scarlet & Gray backline faced 18 total shot attempts and went unblemished in the final 82 minutes of play. Hodson snagged six saves to pick up her fifth win and second consecutive victory.

QUOTABLE: "I'm incredibly proud of this group. Going down early on the road isn't easy, but our response showed a lot of character, resilience, and belief in one another. We stayed composed, continued to fight, and found a way to get the result. Earning our first road win of the season is a big step for this team, and hopefully it gives us momentum moving into next week."
-UNLV Head Coach Kacey Bingham

UP NEXT: UNLV will close its season at home vs. Colorado College on Thursday, Nov. 5, with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Peter Johann Memorial Field.

NOTES:

After finding the net twice against UH, the Rebels have scored a combined seven goals in their last two matches.
UNLV has now netted multiple goals in a match eight times during the 2026 campaign.
Encinas became the ninth Rebel to score a goal this season.
