CARY, N.C. - The third-ranked UNLV golf team shot a final-round 285, which was the lowest of the day, to come from behind and capture the team title at the BELLSOUTH Yellow Pages Intercollegiate, which was held at the par-72 6,822-yard MacGregor Downs Country Club on Saturday.

The Rebels (286-298-285-869), who trailed New Mexico by three shots entering the final 18 holes of play, rallied and made up seven shots on the Lobos to capture their fifth title of the season. UNLV has now won five of its last seven tournaments and has finished in the top three in its last eight appearances.

New Mexico (287-294-292-873) finished second, while Minnesota (293-291-290-874), who was tied for second with UNLV after the second round, finished third. East Tennessee State (287-299-291-877) and Clemson (294-291-292-877) finished tied for fourth.

Individually, New Mexico's Wil Collins (72-69-71-212) held on for medalist honors. UNLV's Chris Berry (72-72-69-213), who was in a fourth-place tie entering the final round, finished second. It marked Berry's second top-five finish in as many tournaments as he was the medalist at last weekend's U.S. Collegiate Golf Championships.

Other Rebels competing were Jeremy Anderson (T8th/71-76-71-218), Scott Lander (T16th/73-74-73-220), Adam Scott (T16th/70-76-74-220) and Michael Kirk (T33rd/74-78-72-224).

UNLV will be back in action May 3-5 at the WAC Championships at Poppy Hills Golf Club on the Monterrey Peninsula in Calif.
