LAS VEGAS - UNLV third-year quarterback Jon Denton has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, the Athletics Department announced Monday.

"Academically, athletically and socially, Jon has not done the things expected from him as a UNLV student-athlete," Rebel Head Coach Jeff Horton said.

"I set out certain guidelines for him and he did not follow them completely. Therefore he is suspended indefinitely from the team."

Denton will not participate in spring practice, which begins Wednesday and runs through March 7.

In accordance with the Family & Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (The Buckley Amendment), no further information regarding the nature of the violation will be released.
