IRVINE, Calif. - The UNLV women?s cross country team ran to a ninth place overall finish at the UC Irvine Asics Cross Country Invitational.

The Rebels? showed some consistency, finishing their top seven in the same order as their season opening meet last week. Stephanie Davidson (Renton, WA/College of Southern Idaho) led the team again, clocking a 19:02.0 and finishing 34th overall.
Newcomer Jenni Nelson (Seattle, WA/Univ. of Montana) continued to look impressive with her 40th place finish in 19:09.
UNLV has been without two of its seniors this season, Sharlene Downing (Las Vegas, NV/Southern Illinois) and Eulista Clemons (Detroit, MI/Northwestern), both of whom could be in a position to run in the top five as the season goes on.
The squad will enjoy a week off before heading to Seattle, WA to compete in the Sundodger Invitational on Saturday, September 25. Complete meet results are availble on the world wide web at: http://www.flashresults.com/flashwest/results/irv99xcw.htm
