Volleyball Falls To No. 19 USC

LAS VEGAS - Led by Amber Oliver's 13 kills, No. 19 Southern California claimed the championship of the UNLV Invitational by defeating host UNLV 12-15, 15-4, 15-10, 15-13 at Lied Gymnasium Saturday.

The loss snapped UNLV's 15-match home winning streak and gave UNLV (7-1) its first loss of the season.

Antoinette Polk recorded a match-high 21 digs and added 12 kills for USC (5-2).

UNLV was led by Angie Sylvas' double-double of 18 kills and 12 digs. Jeanette Graves also had a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Justine Kamelamela added 13 kills for the Rebels.

Graves and Amber Graham were both selected to the all-tournament team for UNLV.

In the invitational's consolation match, Oral Roberts (7-4) defeated New Orleans (4-5) 15-3, 15-7, 15-6.

UNLV's next action will be on Thursday, Sept. 23, as it travels to Malibu, Calif., to face No. 10 Pepperdine at 7:00 p.m.
