Maui Invitational Coaches To Chat Live

LAS VEGAS - Want to chat with a college basketball coaching legend like Lute Olson, Jim Calhoun, Denny Crum or Theresa Grentz? Or maybe pick the brain of up-and-coming coaches like Bill Self, Oliver Purnell or Bill Bayno?

The Maui Invitational and Women's Maui basketball tournaments and the Marriott Vacation Club International have partnered with Lycos.com to help college hoop fans everywhere do just that. Between November 2 and 16. Fans, alumni and students will be able to ask 11 of the head coaches in the Maui Invitational and Women's Maui schools about the tournament, their favorite player or the upcoming season.

In addition to the coaches chats there will also be a 24-hour message board on Lycos.com that will allow fans, alumni and boosters to post their opinions and questions about the 2000 Maui Invitational and Women's Maui teams, players, coaches and the college basketball season in general.

The 2000 Maui Invitational and Women's Maui basketball tournaments are produced by KemperLesnik Communications. The 17th annual Maui Invitational will be played November 20 - 22, 2000 at the Lahaina Civic Center on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. ESPN will carry all seven championship flight games live, including the championship game November 22 at 9 p.m. EST.

This year marks the first Women's Maui, played November 24 and 25, 2000, with four teams - Alcorn State and Clemson Universities and the Universities of Illinois and Tennessee - also at the Lahaina Civic Center. The championship game will be aired live on Oxygen November 25 at 5 p.m. EST.
