Rebels Earn Back-To-Back Awards

Dec. 11, 2000

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the second straight week, a member of the UNLV women's basketball has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Petra Gl?ser, a 6-6 freshman from Amtsberg, Germany, earns the honor after leading the Rebels to a 1-1 record last week. In UNLV's 91-74 loss at No. 27 Arizona, Gl?ser connected on 11 of 13 free throws to post career highs with 21 points and eight rebounds. Her 11 free throws were just four short of the school record of 15.

On Saturday, Gl?ser went an impressive 8-for-9 from the field, scoring 17 points in UNLV's 81-72 victory at Eastern Washington.

She ranks fifth in the MWC in scoring with 13.5 points per game.

Gl?ser and the Lady Rebels are idle until Dec. 19 when they host Cal State Northridge at 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
