LARAMIE, Wyo. - Sophomore defender Kelly Oshay found junior midfielder Cristyn Enea off a corner kick with a minute and a half left in overtime as the UNLV women's soccer team came away with a 3-2 victory over Wyoming in a Mountain West Conference match Sunday afternoon in Laramie, Wyo.
The Rebels would jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first half, after junior midfielder Kelly Janke sank an unassisted goal within five minutes of the start of the game. A transfer from Cal Poly Pomona, this marked Janke's first goal as a Rebel.
Back-to-back penalty kicks were later awarded to both teams in the 25th minute. Enea recorded her second successful penalty kick of the season at 25:02, while Melissa Bowman got past senior goalkeeper Alice Gleason at 25:31 for the penalty kick goal for Wyoming.
In the second half, the Cowgirls tied the game up at 2-2, on a goal by Sara Skinner from teammate Sara Stephens at 49:14. The remaining 40 minutes of the match ended with both teams not being able to find the net, forcing the game into overtime.
Oshay, a native of Claremont, Calif., scored the game-winning goal in the 103rd minute to mark her second UNLV career goal. With the win, the Rebels keep their undefeated all-time series record intact versus the Cowgirls at 4-0.
