LAS VEGAS (AP) - Trevor Diggs scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half as UNLV came from behind to beat Brigham Young 68-56 on Saturday in a Mountain West Conference game.
Freshman Lafonte Johnson also scored 17 points for the Rebels (14-9, 5-3). Kaspars Kambala added 13 points and 13 rebounds for UNLV and Dalron Johnson scored 10 points.
Mekeli Wesley led BYU (16-7, 5-3) with 17 points and Terrell Lyday added 14. The Rebels trailed by 16 early in the first half but outscored the Cougars by 14 points to 33-31 at halftime.
BYU scored the first seven points of the second half to extend the lead to 40-31, but converted only one field goal in the next 11 minutes as the Rebels went on a 24-7 run to take a 55-47 lead. Later in the half, the Rebels scored seven straight points to build the lead to 12.
BYU shot only 27 percent (7-26) in the second half and was 34 percent for the game. The Rebels didn't fare that much better, shooting only 38 percent for the game.
